My Story

In a new season of life, I embraced a powerful lesson. Realizing we all have limited control over what happens around us, I continued to find new ways forward.

Stepping foot outside the building, it was hard to believe that such a huge part of my life was over. After 23 years of service in the Air Force and attaining the rank of Senior Master Sergeant, I retired from the military and embraced a new season in my life.

Just a few months after graduating high school, I enlisted in the Air Force. Originally, I thought the military would just be a starting point for my life, but it turned into a decades-long career. With a passion for medicine, I trained as a medic and fell in love with the work. Throughout my life, I always wanted to help people, and I was able to do that daily as a medic. The urgency of what I did, spending the majority of my career in Aerovac, kept me sharp and passionate about my work. However, there was more to my life than my job.

While on active duty in the military, I had my two children. Leaving them while on long deployments was not ideal, but my family and I made it work for many years. As they got older, though, what had worked before was no longer sustainable. Maintaining a regimented military career was not an option with growing family obligations due to illness, including frequent doctor appointments and last-minute change of plans when I needed to be home to care for my family. Additionally, although I was satisfied with my career and happy with what I had accomplished, I knew deep down that it was time for me to move on to my next chapter.

Over the 23 years I served in the military, I moved 10 times for different assignments. One of those moves was to San Antonio, and even after I was reassigned elsewhere, I kept my home here with the plan to return when I could. Once I retired, that is what I did.

As a medic, the two things I enjoyed most were helping people and teaching others in my field. Once a friend mentioned real estate and I explored the industry on my own, I quickly realized it shared those same two core principles. In 2017, I became a licensed REALTOR® and found the flexibility to be here for my family and also continue doing what I do best – helping and empowering those around me.

I always strive to improve at every opportunity. In the military, each new posting came with a mentor. Real estate was no different, and I started off with a great coach from the beginning. One thing I never expected, though, was even with my newfound flexibility, I found a lack of control over the process. In the Air Force, there was always some way I could control every situation to assure the outcome. Real estate, however, is variable and dependent upon countless circumstances and people.

It was a steep learning curve, but I drew on the optimism I have had all my life and pushed through the most frustrating times. I realized while I may not have total control of every situation, I do control my own actions. I focus on those, finishing my part and hoping for the best while continually uncovering new ways to keep moving forward.

Whenever I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Joe, and our six children, whether we hang around the house or go out to eat. My favorite part of being a REALTOR® is helping my clients achieve what they thought was impossible.

Whether you are buying or selling, you are embarking on a huge transition, and I understand how stressful that can be. I moved ten times throughout my military career and understand how to navigate the logistics of neighborhoods and school districts. I will take the time to educate you throughout the entire process and walk you through it step by step. With my master’s in education and years of teaching in the Air Force, I know how to share information and instill confidence so you can make the best decision to fit your needs.

As your advocate, I provide the best real estate experience possible so you can enjoy this process. I will accommodate your needs however I can and am comfortable with virtual showings and making the transaction as smooth as possible even while you are a world away. I have extensive experience in residential relocation, including both business professionals and military members. Once the sale is closed, I will continue to serve your success as your lifelong REALTOR®.
